Courtney Shapiro has been the Director of Community Relations and Marketing for CalViva Health since June 2015. Courtney has served public and non-profit organizations in the Fresno area since 2003, focusing on community outreach, training, public administration, leadership building, marketing and development. She holds a Bachelors in Communications and a Masters in Public Administration.
Courtney has a passion for working with youth organizations and school districts that focus on early literacy and health. Her passion allowed her to develop a school-based vision screening program called See 2 Succeed. In partnership with Tzu Chi Medical, See 2 Succeed works with 18 school districts in Fresno County, and has prescreened 80,000 students and has provided glasses to nearly 5,000 of them in the past six years. She is passionate about this work because she believes that providing free glasses to children will allow them to be ready to learn for school, which is one less barrier that they have to overcome.
Courtney’s husband Joshua is a High School and Middle School principal in Clovis Unified. They have three daughters Brooklynblair, Taylor, and Kennedy that keep them busy with many co-curricular activities.
