Delbert Cederquist, an Easton-area grape grower, has been a school board member for 64 years, serving longer than any school trustee in California, as well as the nation. First elected at the age of 21 to the University Colony School District board, he has played an active role in education ever since. He was elected to the Fresno County Board of Education in 1994 and is presently in his fifth, four-year term. The county board oversees more than 190,000 students and provides services to 32 school districts in Fresno County. Delbert is an active member of the Fresno County School Trustees Association and served as statewide president in 1977. He is recognized both locally and statewide for his knowledge, expertise and commitment to education.
