Gursharan Rahal was born in India and then raised on her parent’s farm in the rural community of Selma. Gursharan has been serving students in education both as a teacher and district administrator for nearly 30 years. She is currently the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessments in the Caruthers Unified School District. Additionally, she has been a business owner in the realm of education for more than 16 years. Gursharan has been a recipient of several awards including the Professional Service Award for Outstanding Achievement from Fresno State University, where she earned her BA and MA. She was also awarded as CLE’s Educator of The Year for Region 7 for exemplifying educational excellence and then advanced to be honored as the State Educator of Year. Gursharan has been married for over 28 years and they have raised two entrepreneurial and community conscious young men. In the last two decades, she has intentionally invested personal growth towards understanding the world of real estate, actively participating in varied exercise/nutrition programs and diligently captures the immeasurable beauty of cultures and food through international traveling.
