
Juan Arambula is the son of immigrant farm workers and spent his youth harvesting crops with his family. He attended Harvard University as an undergraduate, received a Master’s degree from Stanford University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, ultimately returning to invest his time and talent in the Fresno County area. He served as a board member of Fresno Unified for many years before being elected to the California State Assembly 31st District, serving from 2004-2010. While in the Assembly he was named “Legislator of the Year” by both the California Small Business Association and the California Association for Local Economic Development before he retired in 2010. Juan is currently involved in the absence prevention program at Fresno Unified and serves as the chair of the Maddy Institute.
