Mr. Matoian grew up on the west side of Fresno in a close-knit family. In 1950 Mr. Matoian's parents, Charles and Anne, started OK Produce out of a small cold box as a wholesale produce company in Downtown Fresno. In 1979, he took over the company’s leadership and in 1986 Mr. Matoian led OK Produce through an expansion to a new facility. The company has grown into one of the leading produce distributors in Central and Northern California. Mr. Matoian’s sons, Chad and Brady, joined the company in 1998 and 2000, respectively, with Mr. Matoian retiring from OK Produce in 2008. He continues to carry on the family tradition of giving back to the community. He is an essential partner of public education through his contributions to local schools and to the programs and services of the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, including the Safe and Healthy Kids Department and to the Superintendent's Superstar Program. He has had a heart for children and their success since his days as a Little League coach. Mr. Matoian is passionate about his hometown, supporting Fresno County students, and spending quality time with his family – especially his grandchildren.
