Aztecs Suiting Up for Safety

The Mendota High School CTE/ROP courses participated in rigorous safety training before actually suiting up for hands-on career stimulating projects.

Coupled with rigor, the challenge of having properly equipped students embark on projects is a never-ending battle. Through the Aztecs Suiting Up for Safety project, CTE/ROP Business Management students designed garments for CTE/ROP programs inspired by Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. A full-circle collaboration took place with this project connecting CTE/ROP and Future Farmers of America. Business students utilized classroom machinery and their very own student-driven school spirit store, Aztec Shop, to design and decorate garments with a focus on safety. This project brought light to safety, while simultaneously promoting career‑driven courses inspired by agriculture in the rural hidden gem of Mendota California.
