This project was created to connect entrepreneurial theory with the real-world financial demands of running a business by giving CTE students the opportunity to pursue a professional QuickBooks certification. With grant funding, 12 students at Western Sierra Charter School received study materials, practice tests, and the official exam experience focused on skills such as cash flow management, invoicing, and account reconciliation. The goal was to move students from basic data entry to advanced bookkeeping and provide a resume-ready credential to support future career or business opportunities. Students demonstrated meaningful growth by developing practical, office-ready skills and gaining a realistic understanding of business financial systems. The experience provided valuable insight into instructional needs, including the importance of extended timelines and consistent, on-site support for complex accounting software. Overall, the project established a strong foundation for future success and refined the approach to better support student learning and certification readiness.
