Common Room Resources- Share the Learning!

The Innovation Grant supported the development of a shared Common Room resource library at Washington Colony Elementary designed to provide TK–8 teachers with access to engaging instructional materials. Instead of individual teachers purchasing and storing resources independently, a centralized collection was created to promote collaboration and equitable access across classrooms.

The shared resources include manipulatives and hands-on tools that support multiple learning modalities and help reinforce or reteach key concepts. Teachers have already begun checking out materials and integrating them into their instruction to enhance lessons and provide additional learning opportunities for students. This has increased instructional flexibility while reducing the need for teachers to purchase supplemental materials with personal funds. Overall, the project has strengthened collaboration among staff and expanded access to high-quality instructional resources across the school.
