Firebaugh Middle School introduced a classroom library designed to expand access to engaging reading materials for 8th grade students. The collection included books at a wide range of reading levels to support all learners, including English Learners and Special Education students. Prior to selecting titles, students were surveyed about their reading interests, preferred genres, and favorite series to help guide the final collection. Since its implementation, students actively used the classroom library to check out books for both in-class and at-home reading. Educators reported increased student engagement, more frequent visits to the library during break and lunch, and noticeable growth in reading levels across the grade.
