The Lights, Camera, Action! project allowed students served during REI Extension to utilize green screens and technology to deepen their learning about their subject matter. Second graders wrote compelling scripts on how to protect sea life and created infomercials to inform their audience. Third graders created a breaking news report about severe weather systems and how to stay safe and fourth graders had a writing competition to teach a lesson about circulation in the body and used the green screen to provide visual supports for their lesson. The use of green screens and iMovie created a sense of excitement and buy in. Student engagement and participation increased because of this great tool.
