March Superintendent's Superstar

Evy is a sophomore at Central High School and a super-superstar when it comes to contributing to school and community projects with more than 90 hours of service. Additionally, she has a 4.7 GPA while taking dual-enrollment courses. At school, she is the Executive Board Member of the Interact Club, where she helped design and paint murals, read to elementary students, and participated in ZooBoo and Career Day events. In addition, she is on the Executive Committee of FFA, Secretary of the California Scholastic Federation and Treasurer of the Book Club, where she competed in the Battle of the Books.

Through her FFA service, Evy has led greenhouse tours for agricultural education at Ag-Kinder Days, spoken at events and is an award-winner in Creed Public Speaking events.  But the list doesn’t stop there! Evy is also President of the Theatre Club, Secretary of the Christian Club, a member of the Principal Student Grizzly Advisory Board, Chair of the Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch Storytime and a member of the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) Club, as well as competes in swimming. When it comes to involvement in FCSS events, Evy goes all out! She placed first in the Junior Division of our One Voice – The Spirit of 9/12 Art Competition and has participated in our Young Authors’ Faire since the 6th grade. Her most recent culminating honor was being crowned the winner of our first Fresno County Youth Poet Laureate competition in November, a new initiative that celebrates young people who use poetry to express ideas, spark conversation and inspire change. In the future, Evy plans to become an elementary school teacher and a children’s book illustrator, creating stories about people who inspire her and make a difference.
