Charter Academy's Helping Our Parenting Students Excel (HOPE) program was in need of resources that would strengthen and give efficacy to parenting students. Parenting students want to feel confident in supporting their children in any situation that arises and one is the ability to apply critical care and safety in an emergency situation. The Innovation Grant also made it possible for parenting mothers and fathers to participate in a CPR/First Aid class and receive their two-year certification. Parenting students also believe in the importance of early-age literacy.  Students were amazed and grateful about the Little Library of Charter Academy. Their children now have expanded access to reading materials and early access to literacy advancements while they complete their credits to graduate.
