Through the activities with the SPOT books, students were able to work together toward a common goal as they worked with a variety of coloring and sticker posters. As the students worked together to complete activities, their excitement and feelings of community were being developed. Another outcome of this project was the creation of a calming corner for the students to use, which has served as a calming corner beyond those assigned to the classroom. The calming corner provides a place for students to just sit and relax and think things through.
