An 8th grader at Washington Colony Elementary School, Layla is an exceptional Golden Patriot student who has been enrolled in Washington Colony since kindergarten. Layla has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout all of middle school. She is a dedicated student-athlete who participates in multiple sports throughout the year and has also been a member of the middle school band. Layla goes above and beyond, not only academically but also in her social life. She is a true example of what a Patriot stands for. She is respectful, responsible, prepared and always follows directions.

She pushes herself academically and always takes feedback from her teachers. Not only does she strive to do better, but her commitment to her education also sparks a light in others. This is because she supports her peers in their learning while reinforcing/furthering her own knowledge. Layla is always open to working with individuals of different backgrounds and ensures that everyone is included. Her kind heart and dedicated soul make her stand out in any crowd.

Among her many service activities in the school and community, Layla has been a part of WC Girls Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Softball and the Middle School Leadership class.

In addition to her academic and athletic achievements, Layla is actively involved in her school community by helping with the PBIS Store. Outside of school, she is a member of Easton Elite Dance, where she continues to develop her skills and dedication. Layla is also a caring sister to both an older and a younger sibling.

Layla’s commitment to academics, athletics, activities and serving her school community makes her an excellent example of a well-rounded student. Layla has demonstrated servant leadership qualities that will continue to show in high school and beyond.
