The Tutoring Totes project provided 31 high school peer mentors from 3 separate high schools with ready-to-use totes filled with academic, artistic and social-emotional learning resources to support elementary school mentees. By equipping mentors with high-quality materials, the program strengthened tutoring sessions, improved student engagement and academic confidence, and promoted literacy, math skills, and positive social-emotional growth. The project also helped high school students develop leadership, communication, and mentoring skills as they used the materials to create individualized activities for their mentees.
