2022 FCSS History Day
The Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools hosted the 39th Annual Fresno County History Day, sponsored in part by EECU. History Day is a unique opportunity for students in grades 4-12 to research and present personally meaningful topics relating to an annual theme, and to examine history in a fun and challenging way. This year’s theme was, “Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences.” Over 260 students competed in three divisions: Elementary (4th-5th grades), Junior (6th-8th grades), and Senior (9th-12th grades). Categories of competition include posters for Elementary Division and Junior and Senior Divisions compete as individuals or groups in documentaries, exhibits, historical papers, performances, and websites. This year, a new category was introduced for podcasts. The top 3 co-champions go on to the State competition in Rocklin, CA at William Jessup University, with the potential to qualify for National History Day.
