Students at Westside Elementary School gained accessed to 3D printers. Using the 3D modeling software "Tinkercad" students were able to construct builds on their computers and print the file. The learning curve proved difficult for many of the students, yet through their determination they persevered. The class was also able to use the 3D printers to print out 3D math manipulatives, which proved very fruitful especially in regards to fractions. Through this program, students engaged in designing custom works of art, models, and STEM solutions. Having exposure to this emergent industry allows students to develop a future-oriented mindset in which they can plan and dream about how they might achieve their goal of pursuing a career in an engaging profession.
