College and Career Day

The inaugural College and Career Day took place at Washington Union High School. Students participated in mock job interviews and a career expert panel. School staff members and community members interviewed all the students using the most frequently asked job interview questions found on career websites.

Each interview was approximately 15 to 20 minutes long and gave students a great insight into what they can expect as they venture out to obtain a job. Students also gathered to listen to three experts, each from a different profession during the expert panel session. They learned about the different interview processes, a typical day in the life of electricians, teachers, and speech language pathologists, as well as advice for life after high school. Students learned and developed skills that they may not have gained otherwise. It was also a great opportunity for our students to interact with members of the community!
