Minds in Motion

The Minds in Motion project was designed to help students at Pacific Union Elementary become better-focused in class during instruction and while completing their work. Students participated in 15 different activities that provided motor development tailored to help students improve their eye-movement control, balance, and body-movement functions.

Students participated in different activities such as keeping their balance on a wiggle board, controlled jelly roll, eye tracking, eye converging, and more. These activities were shown to help students increase their focus and attention and develop fine and large motor control of muscles. They looked forward to participating and showed focus and determination when trying to complete the activities successfully. They then were able to take that positivity and focus onto their next task in the learning capacity. The equipment and activities were easy to integrate into the day and the students’ minds were definitely in motion!
